When you book your test you can request that your score be sent to up to 5 addresses (immigration agencies, universities etc). If you need more than 5, a fee will be charged for each one above 5. The institute you are applying to can also view your results online – they will need to access the IELTS TestReport Form (TRF) Verification Service and you will need to provide them with your Test Report Form number which is in the bottom right corner of your Test Report Form.

The IELTS test is held on multiple dates every month. You can go to the British Council site to select a date that suits you.

Some English-medium universities need potential students to show their English language abilities and for this you'll need to achieve a specific band score by doing the IELTS Academic Test. For work and immigration purposes, you'll need to prove your English proficiency by doing the IELTS General Test.
